The production of 3005 aluminum foil focuses on controlling grain size and surface quality:

• Melting and Casting

Melting aluminum ingots with alloying elements, often using Continuous Casting and Rolling (CCR).

• Cold Rolling

Reducing the thickness through multiple passes to reach the target gauge (e.g., 0.01mm – 0.2mm).

• Intermediate Annealing

Heating stages to eliminate work hardening and restore ductility for further thickness reduction.

• Finishing & Slitting

The final rolling pass determines surface brightness and pinhole rates, followed by slitting into specific widths.

• Final Annealing

Controlling temperature and time to achieve desired tempers, such as O (fully soft) or H14/H24 (half-hard).
