Aluminium Conductors
Aluminum conductor also called aluminum stranded wire is a type of bare conductor widely used in overhead power transmission lines. It is composed of hard-drawn aluminum wires and a galvanized steel core. The steel core provides mechanical strength, while the aluminum strands are responsible for electrical conductivity. The conductor adopts a multi-layer concentric stranded structure, with adjacent layers twisted in opposite directions and the outermost layer laid in a right-hand direction. The stranding pitch ratio decreases layer by layer to ensure structural stability and mechanical performance. Aluminum conductors are characterized by light weight, high strength, and good electrical conductivity, making them widely used in long-distance and high-capacity power transmission systems, helping to reduce both construction and operating costs.

Comparison with Other Metal Conductors
Compared with traditional copper conductors and other metal wires, aluminium conductors offer several advantages:
☑ Good electrical conductivity
Low resistivity effectively reduces line losses and improves transmission efficiency.
☑ Light weight
Approximately one-third the density of copper, making installation easier and reducing tower load.
☑ Lower cost
Significant advantages in raw material and manufacturing costs.
☑ Excellent corrosion resistance
Suitable for humid and harsh environments with stable long-term performance.
☑ Good mechanical flexibility
Provides sufficient ductility and tensile adaptability for different spans and tension requirements.

Applications of Aluminium Conductors
1. Power Transmission and Distribution Systems
Aluminium conductors are widely used in overhead transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks. Their lightweight nature reduces structural load, while good conductivity helps minimize energy loss.
2. Construction and Decoration
Used in ceiling structures, decorative meshes, and architectural design elements due to their light weight and ease of installation.
3. Electrical Equipment Manufacturing
Applied in motors, generators, and electrical devices to ensure stable and efficient power transmission.
4. Transportation and Automotive Industry
Used in lightweight structural components and conductive parts, helping reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel efficiency and performance.
5. Aerospace Industry
Used in aircraft and spacecraft systems where high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance are critical.
6. Chemical and Industrial Equipment
Applied in pipelines, pressure vessels, and reactors where long-term corrosion resistance and reliability are required.
AAC / AAAC / ACSR / ACAR

01. AAC – All Aluminium Conductor
- Made entirely of aluminium strands (no steel core)
- Good conductivity, lightweight
- Used mainly in urban distribution systems and short spans

02. AAAC – All Aluminium Alloy Conductor
- Made of aluminium alloy (no steel core)
- Higher mechanical strength than AAC
- Better corrosion resistance (especially in coastal or humid areas)
- Used in medium to long span distribution lines

03. ACSR – Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced
- Aluminium strands + galvanized steel core
- Steel core provides high tensile strength
- Aluminium provides conductivity
- Widely used in overhead transmission lines (especially long-distance and high-voltage lines)

04. ACAR – Aluminium Conductor Alloy Reinforced
- Aluminium strands combined with aluminium alloy reinforcement
- Balanced electrical and mechanical performance
- Used where both strength and conductivity are required
